I am writing this to hopefully add another point of view to the many
views already expressed on this subject; Apple & Intel. First from a
layman's perspective I view this as a race car driver would who has run
the Indy 500 numerous times but just can't get to the finish line first,
So after considering all the intricacies of his car he comes to the
conclusion that a new engine would work better for him and his car. So
he researches engines and decides on one that will suit his needs and
provide him with what's necessary to make his car a winner. An engine
that fits the dynamics if his car and his racing style. Then he rebuilds
his car around this engine. Now I don't know all the procedures involved
here but the final link in all of this is of course the driver himself.
Having a new engine and car won't win him the race if he himself doesn't
know how to drive as an expert. There will be and are degrees of use
involved here.
So for everyone there is going to be a different experience as far as
usage goes with the change from IBM to Intel processors in Apple
Computers, but I would bet that Steve Jobs has researched this issue and
that the machine he intends to make available to us, the users, will
still be the same sleek svelte instrument it has always been. Keep the
Faith.
By the way, I know nothing about cars or computers, except how to drive
them and use them to satisfy my wants and needs.
So this is just my opinion and not written in stone nor meant to
belittle anyone else.
Brad; a user of fine machines.
