Unless the flyback or the drive circuitry is shot you can still do the 
check-up.
IMPORTANT:
The High Voltage and the CRT can retain a charge for many days, and they 
need to be discharged prior to any investigation.

Harry, thanks for the heads up but, I think I'll use this as my excuse 
to upgrade to an LCD monitor. I think it will go with my G4 much better 
then the seventeen inch monitor that just died or spasmed. Thanks anyway.
