Subject: [G] two G3's partition or not

I Have a G3/288 and a G3/300, use them both. One in garage one in house.
Friend has offered to partition my G3/300, put 9.2 and X on it. Would it
be better to simply have 9.2 (which I like and understand) on the 266
and X on the 300. Answer is probably yes but thought I'd check it out
with the experts. I'm 74 and the "learning curve" on X makes me nervous.
If I got frustrated on X, could always use the 266 with 9.2

Also, have Netscape 4.7 and and Internet Explorer 5.0 for browsers on
both. Any suggestions for another browser or should I leave well enough
alone.

Reason I want X is that I can get "accelerated" dial up only available
if using X

Thanks,

Richard in San Diego

I'd recommend getting the 300 partitioned and having 9 and X put on it, you can then have the benefit and pleasure of using X (don't worry about the learning curve, its a doddle) and have 9 for classic apps. By doing this you won't need to go all the way to another machine to use a piece of classic software, highly impractical i'm sure you'd agree!
Once you've installed X you can then start using Firefox as your browser, its head and shoulders above anything else imho. It only works on X tho, if you need to browse on 9 i'd suggest Mozilla, its a bit clunky but does the job. (as you may tell, i'm not a huge fan of Opera. I have no particular reason why, give it a go for yourself, you might like it more than I)
