I'm a bit late with this, but it might help, so...
My son had the same problem with MySpace and solved it by never
forgetting to log out, he says. Might give that a try.
He uses a 3400 PB running IE and a G3 600 iMac running OSX Jag and IE.
Both had the same problem.

I've encountered similar problems and often the
issue is resolved by using
a different browser. Usually IE is the most
forgiving, so I'm a bit
puzzled at your situation. Nevertheless, I'd
recommend you try
Mozilla/FireFox and/or iCab and make sure your Java
libraries are
up-to-date. If you're not familiar with iCab, it's
small, fast, and highly
customizable though it suffers from the absence of
CSS support. It has one
feature in particular that may shed light on your
situation. If a Java
script keeps running for more than several seconds,
it'll give you the
option to break the loop.
