Great subject. With a batt. pack/inverter you might run Airport Express and a powered speaker set using AirTunes. (or direct from iPod). I'd compare this to the fidelity of wireless speakers. Cambridge sells a dual source batt./AC powered 3-piece set around $70 - work OK if area not too big. At least they emulate a rock and you'd get much more stereo separation than extravagantly priced boom boxes sold into the iPod space.
