When I turned on my G3 B&W instead of the normal screen everything had expanded beyond the boundaries of the monitor: the Mac welcome square occupied more than half. Also the color was a dim brown.

I restarted to find the same effect but then slowly everything shrunk back to normal size and color, functioning OK and on a subsequent restart it was also normal.

What do you think is going on here? Something screwy with the monitor? Previously when put to sleep with Eudora off-line but open the G3 would sometimes hang. I wonder if there's any connexion? Thanks for your help.
