You may run into a small problem installing OSX, if the firmware was never updated. You need to be able to start up from an OS 9 System Folder, on the hard drive (rather than from a CD) in order to run the firmware updater.

The G3 Blue & Whites do need that update. However, the previous owner might have done that already.

Some RAM chips are clearly marked, as to their size. If you open up the side panel, and check the RAM, you might be able to figure out how much is installed.

I wonder if your B&W even has enough RAM to run OS X.
You can certainly install the OS, or try to.


the B&W didn't come with any disks _
all I have is the OS X CDs that I got to upgrade _
the Drive seems to be plugged in correctly _
