I have the same problem. Is yours a 68pin, you know
the pin holes are lined up like a trapezoid? I had an

Yeah, it's the Maxtor¨ Atlasª III disk drive

The SCSI Connector on the Atlas Drive is a 68 pin Female.
Which is as the; SCSI(-3) Parallel Interface - 2 (SPI-2)
But like I said the drive shows up in the System Profiler (10.3.9) but won't mount on the desktop. It was formatted with the disk utility that comes with OSX retail. You can use that utility while still in OS 9.2.2

I forgot to mention that the drive is mounted externally. I think that I need one of those adaptors that have the pull-up resistor on the unterminated lines. This drive has differential lines and my Adaptek 2930CU is single ended.
