AFAIK, a PC has to have the .doc suffix to recognize a Word file; you can add it and resend the files or, depending on your client relationship, simply have them add it. Actually, I'm surprised they didn't notice the absence of a suffix and just fix it, since Windows requires a suffix on a file to know what it is and what app to use.

However, if this isn't your problem, I'd suggest you go to the Mactopia area of Microsoft's website (www.microsoft.com/mac/) and check out the Support section to find an FAQ, search their Support Knowledge Base, or post a question to the newsgroup.
