Indexing my 80G HD (ATA 7200 rpm)on the BnW takes
FOREVER! I have it set to index at 1200 AM, but
usually I shut it down at night. Last night I left it
on and when I came to check it this morning it said
that it was indexing the volume and had 26 hours left
to go. hmmmm. So, I stopped the indexing and then
the little bar in the window that tells me it is
stopping indexing kept running and running and
running.....I finally got tired of that and did a hard
restart with no apparent ill effects... I have 9.2.2
and 10.3.9 on this machine, has 768 mb ram and is a
G4'd 500 mhz BnW350 rev 2.
Oh, by the way it was only set to index the 9.2.2
volume last night.
Just in case you needed to know....
TIA
Jason
I've had exactly the same problem, with 3 HDs. I asked the lists and
ended up setting it to only index a very small volume. I guess this
means that my volumes remain unindexed, and this affects Sherlock's
ability to search.
