Since it's to be a file server, a bigger HDD would help ;-) That's probably about all you need to do to it; possibly set up VNC on it so it can be administered in a headless fashion if you want.

I'd also enable remote access on it if the owner is at all proficient at command-line stuff, since that would also allow many admin tasks to be done headlessly.

Besides, then you can call it Roland....
