I brought a mute iMac back to conversation recently by re-setting the CUDA
button. I've been told that you need to have power plugged in to make this
work, but my experience is that it works best with the cord unplugged and
the p-ram battery removed. You probably won't be beset by locusts for trying
it both ways.
