try holding down the option key while it is booting. See if that gives you a
choice of boot volumes.

When I was 1st loading OS X on my beige, I had an issue with it not going back to the old OS (which was on another volume), & I solved it with reseting the NVRAM: Cmd-opt-N-V at boot.
