good morning

well here goes one of my simple minded question...

I have a 40 GB hard drive which I use to booth the
system (drive1)
and I have a new 60 GB hard drive which I'll use for
storage (drive0)

Q can I use some of the 60 GB for storaging iPhoto &
ITunes files and the rest as an on board backup drive?

sure.

Both iTunes and iPhoto let you specify where your libraries are, and backups can go anywhere you can fit the files.

The main reason people recommend that you put backups on an external drive is that the drive can be removed and stored somewhere off-site.
