What $700 printer? My Epson C84 was $35 and the Canon iP3000 was $45.
Replacing the carts with factory ones easily is twice the original cost of
the printers. While I'll agree that the factory carts are better the
difference is not worth the price. A set of 12 (one of each color) is
between $30 and $40 for either the Canon or Epson vs $10 to $20 for each
factory cart. I avoid HP printers because there is no way to save much on
the ink costs.

Now if this were the 'old days' where a printer was $300+, then possibly
ruining it with 3rd party carts is not worth it and the HP would look
better. Just my opinion.
