There is a little question of software! Take me for example, I have perfectly good and extensive software that will run on 9. It will not run on X "perfectly well" in Classic on X. There is a big question of cost to upgrade to X. It is a most vexing issue for me! And really, for me, it goes beyond money. A X version of Photoshop is about as likely to be as good as PS 5 as that PS 6 is as good as 5 - this latter is low probability, I have both and know 5 is better as it loads faster and is simpler to look at... and who needs all the fancy doodle... :). I accept that native X I need for latest browsers but these are free. Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. I will from time to time be popping up to air my Rip Van Winkle ideas. You will allow me to scream a bit as I get dragged into the 21st Century. I already have a fancy doodle G4. But I have yet to fire it in anger for my work. Am beginning to think this G4 is like a hobby car, I will upgrade it and put things on it and take it for a spin every now and again, a Sunday driver. But during the week and for my work, I use my rusting 35 year old Ford XY... oops, I mean my 7300. David Elmo (To the OP, I was able to install 9 on my HD following good advice from folks here by putting in a X install disk and getting disk ute up, and installing the 9 drivers and partitioning and ejecting the CD and starting from a 9.2 install disk and installing fine. Just in case this helps) -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
