The printer cable is not propriotary. There are several types of USB cable. The end that goes into the Mac is always flat and rectangular. The other side is usually narrower, more square. I'll look for another cable to try.

But of course, it could be a software problem. Can't remeber anymore what model printer you had or version of OSX. I don't think I ever installed any driver for my SP750. OS 10.3 comes with a long list of EPSON drivers already installed.

Epson Stylus CX5200 3 in 1

Epson assures me that their driver is already imbedded in Tiger.
