Ive found that a G4 processor helps out a lot for speeding up OS X. Not sure if youd actually need a faster system, but G4 upgrades for this machine are quite expensive. A 550MHz ZIF I think costs about $100. If you have some money to spend, check out the prices of g4 ZIF upgrades vs an AGP G4. If your RAM is PC100 or better you do not need a machine with RAM, and you could use your old HD as well. Again, you want at least 512MB RAM. And a decent graphics card, the ATI Rage Pro, can be found for $5 to $10 on eBay. It is a 16MB card. But a 32mb Radeon 7000 can be had for around $40, maybe less. 128MB Radeon 9200s are about $100.
