A couple of years ago I wanted to KVM my Beige and IIci (which I only use for an old MIDI program). I was given a PC KVM with PS/2 and VGA and went online and bought some ADB connectors along with some PS/2 connectors. I knew that all I needed to do was transfer the correct signals consistently and the connector type was irrelevant as long as it connected. I made some small connectors about 4" in length that transferred ADB to PS/2.
So, PS/2 connectors plug in to the KVM but I have adapters that allow an ADB connection on one side and a PS/2 connection on the other. Keep in mind that I'm doing no conversion and not really using PS/2 - I'm just using the connections (wires) in the KVM. It works great. Never had a problem. You'll need to be able to solder or have someone do it for you. The old PS/2 KVM's are totally passive and cheap (<$5) and just connect the 'wires' together. You must be consistent though. It doesn't matter what pins you choose and use on the connector as long as it gets back to your Mac correctly. The VGA part is a no-brainer. Just make all the adapters the same. The Beige is gone and I'm now doing the same on a B&W. r -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
