Hi folks,
I borrowed a friend's digital video cam last weekend and recorded a
bunch of stuff.
I now want to transfer that to a hard drive via my beige G3 AV.
It's got the RCA plugs (and an S-video plug) and I've got the cable
for the RCAs.... what do I need in the way of software?
GarageBand and SoundStudio both only give me the choice of "Built-in
audio controller", and don't register any sound when I'm playing
back. (I'm primarily after the audio, though video might be nice at
some point too).
You may need to drop back to OS 9 to import analog audio, The beige
audio in may not work, depending on the OS version. I'm not sure
about this but I know there are issues with Beige G3 audio in under
OS X.
Would iMovie do it? Is there some hardware thing I need to do to
turn on the AV capabilities?
Via FireWire, yes. iMovie will only import video via FireWire
though. It's definitely the better way to go.
I'd be happy with doing it in OS9 if the beige won't do it in X.
Just need to get from here to there.
