Wade Tinney writes, <Ok, now that I have my hard drive back...
How do I do a complete backup of my drive?> Well, I do it by burning all the data to CDs. I have a CDRW and run it with Toast 5 Lite. I did the original burns using rewritable CDs instead of regular one-time-use CDs, so every couple of weeks I re-use the same CDs to update my backups. I also have an Iomega Zip drive, which I use to make what I call "daily dynamic backups" -- that is, current projects as I change them on a daily basis, and/or new files I add to my G3 between CD updates. However, those are not the only ways to create and maintain backups. Some people buy external hard drives and back their stuff up to those, and I also understand that there are backup and restoration applications (Retrospect, to name one) which supposedly make the process easier for them, and which, they say, are more reliable (some people don't trust Zip disks, for example). The primary CDRW backup and secondary Zip backup systems work for me, however. Other Listers here, I'm sure, will be happy to mention the backup methods THEY use and think are best. ~Yersinia. ________ Got mole problems?
