OK, just got the 9600 and tried to install it last night into my
Digital Audio running 10.3.9. Taped pins 3 and 11 with only minor
problems (durn fat fingers). Installed with taped pins and system
starts fine, just no video. Untaped the pins after reading a few
reports online that sometimes these cards just work, as long as it fits
in the slot. No go, no startup, no nothing.
More research online says that sometimes you need to downgrade the ROM
to version 120 to get them to work in a 4x slot. Does anyone have this
rom and a Mac flasher utility? Also, the only pci video card that I
have access to is a Radeon 7000. If I run the flasher, will it flash
both cards, or can I select only one of them to flash?
Barring that, has anyone on the list done this and is able to flash my
card for a small fee? Of course, I'll pay S&H both ways.
Thanks for any input,
Len
