Hi, I'm on the verge (today) of buying a G3 iMac for a very good price, however the seller has told me:
"The computer is fully functioning and this hasn't affected the computer's performance for as long as Ive had it....When powering on the computer nothing comes up on the screen UNTIL you hit the restart button the side of the machine. It does this everytime you try to boot but, but after hitting the restart button the computer powers up just fine. The machine is completely restored and clean and like I said this power up quirk does not, to my knowledge, affect anything of the computer's performance." It's running OS9...would anyone know if updating the firmware and installing Tiger could fix this, or is it as I suspect a bad circuit on the logic board? If the latter, is this a problem that will get progressively worse, or if I am willing to live with it like that will it perform normally and have a future? Thank you very much!
