Wow. I would never, ever instruct a user to put in just "shawmail" in any circumstances. I cannot believe that is the ISPs install instruction!

They must like support calls..... that is guaranteed to break for many reasons.


Because their CD set up program sets the Search domain to vc.shawcable.net. They do that so they only need to setup a single point with the local sub domain and everything else will work with this. I suspect they do it so if you have any problem they can just tell you to run the CD (despite how it may screw up other things). Yeah, I'd never set someone up that way.
