determine the resolution. if its a switchless one, you need software

I had the same problem with my ViewSonic E70f+ and contacted ViewSonic.
They explained the problem and offered to send me a new adapter at no
charge. Although I went through that twice with them I never received
anything from them. I only mention it because you may wish to contact
them, perhaps you will actually receive yours! ;)
I'll look into the software solutions being suggested in this thread,
hopefully one will be compatible with OS 10.2.8.
