Just wanna say in my experience ATA drives are NOT reliable. What percentage of drives have you noticed fail in a year? Because all but one of my IDE drives have failed. So thats 4 gone bad, 1 is still working. Im not saying an ide drive wont last a year, im saying in my experience it probably wont last 4 years. maybe its not a problem to some of you who replace your hardware every few years, but I expect a drive to still be working after 4 years of use. Now SCSI has never let me down except for one particular brand, and ive had well over a dozen SCSI drives.
