Review the make of drives you have at their web sites and make sure
you have them jumpered properly. One master, one slave, or both for
cable select.
If master/slave, ensure the master is on the end of the cable and the
slave is on the middle connector.

Am I correct that this info is not applicable to the beige as it doesn't
use "ultra" ATA cables? My slave is on the end of the cable in the beige MT.
I have another related question. Can I change the status of drives on
the secondary bus without causing problems?
I'd like to temporarily change my slave drive to master, either
disconnecting the CD ROM which is currently master or changing it to
slave, while doing some hard drive maintenance. It would really help me
to be able to boot OSX from the second drive during this. After
everything is completed I'd like to return the CD to master for the
ability to boot from it, and will no longer need to boot from the second
hard drive. Is this asking for trouble?
Thanks,
Andrew MacDougall
