1. Ok i installed it, and it seems to be working. How can I REALLY test? Is there a device manager or anything similar? (i'm an ex win guy).
Look in Utilities > System Profiler It should describe the capability. Otherwise just use it to test it.
2. I purchased 10.4 last night (before the drive came in, and installed it). My Tiger has no idvd, or iphoto installed on the g4 machine dock. Any reason as to why? How come my powerbook does? I'm a bit confused...
These are parts of iLife, which comes with new systems, not with the OS. Older versions of OS X did come with iPhoto. You can copy them from the PB.
