I am trying to put a Radeon 9600 from a G5 into my G4 Digital Audio
with a 4X agp slot.
When I just slap it in, my Mac will not start, no big deal, research
says that it only rarely works as a drop in, but it does occasionally.
When I put tape over pins 3 and 11, my Mac starts fine, but no video
out on the 9600 and it does not show up in system profiler.
Graphiccellerator (sp?) does not see the card.
The seller guarantees that it is a Mac pull.
My last hope is to "blind flash" the card with rom version 120. My
searches for this have been fruitless. Does anyone know where to get it
or have a copy of it?
Or does anyone have any other ideas to get this card to work in a G4?
The only physical mod I did to the card is to gently cut off the
retaining leg off and no circuit traces were harmed in the process.
