I would appreciate any help on this one.
I have a B&W that was running 9.1 and Tiger.
When I try to update to 9.21, it hangs on the 9.21 startup. It
doesn't appear to load any extensions. The progress bar gets about a
half-inch across the screen then everything just stops. Then a small
bomb appears where the mouse pointer was.
I assume you're talking about a system freeze on restart after you do
the 9.2.1 install...? If so, try startup without extensions (hold down
shift key until you get to "Welcome to Mac OS" smiley face screen). If
you get a successful startup to the desktop, you have a startup file
conflict problem...or something got corrupted during the install. Try
re-installing (Clean Install).
This is also happening on a friend's machine. The only thing I just
noticed, is that I didn't turn off file sharing as per the readme,
prior to the install.
Any ideas?
Try turning of File Sharing before the install this time...and do a
Clean Install.
