HI all,

I am having a Spotlight problem and need help. Seemingly "out of the blue", it is not functioning right. It takes forever (several minutes even) to search for something. It almost seems to get "hung up" if that makes sense... I can hear the little brains in my iBook churning away and I get that rolling beachball-ish icon.

What could be going on? I haven't added software, memory or changed any preferences or settings, etc - at least not on purpose.

I first noticed the problem last weekend when I had to use Classic mode to open a document in my (old) version of Word. After that, I had the problem, which continues now. Could that have anything to do with it? Since then, I have shut down completely, and restarted even a couple times... Spotlight still seems to struggle.

Any thoughts?
