MacDraw: Not really on this list, as it doesn't work at all in Classic, but I missed it terribly. Found JfDraw.jar though which looks promising and has even more features and it's free. Others might want to check it out.

MacDraw Pro works just fine in classic. There's a bug in the program, though (which also manifested in OS 9, iirc) in that you cannot re-save a file if MDP is running from a disk > 2GB.

A workaround I've discovered (very useful since I have several professors with LOTS of old figures in MacDraw Pro) is to make a disk image using Disk Utility, then storing the MacDraw program on it. It doesn't need to be very large at all.

Then when you want to use MacDraw Pro, double-click on the disk image, then double-click on the MD icon.

I have and use Macdraw II, and it does not work on a HD larger than 700mb, nor apparently with an OS later than 8.6. I cannot use it on my G3, so have to keep my old 6116 (with G3 upgrade) in use for it. The same goes for Macdraw Pro.

This is something that I have not been able to get around. Actually, now that I think of it, I DID have MDII working on my G3ed 9600 with 4gb and OS9.0... for a while. Then eventually it refused to open. I was told by other listees that it should NOT have opened at all. And MD Pro worked... until I tried to save, which it absolutely refused to do.

I found that MD Pro had a bug that didn't occur with MDII, but cannot remember what it was. But I preferred MDII because of this. Initially I managed to open MDII files in MD Pro, but eventually it refused to work.

MDII has a bug in that the layers are not to scale and have a fixed point somewhere in any "group"; the further from this point you draw, the worse the mismatch. This does not show up on the screen, but you soon find out when you print!

If you want to make labels with separating lines and you want to print the lines, I don't know of any program other than MDII/Pro which will do this.
