How do you burn a backup copy of your startup drive to DVD?

The system is a G4 Sawtooth, OS 10.3.9 using Toast 6.

First I tried burning from the booted startup volume and then I tried to burn
from a clone of the same volume from another partition; both failed.

I was logged in as "My Account" admin. The error message reads:

"file.hotfile.btree could not be accessed (data fork-5000). I then hit the
"OK" button and the message said "could not complete the last command because
you don't have the required permissions. Result code-5000" At this point the
DVD
became a coaster -- both times.

So, how do you do it?? --glen (digest mode)
