Hey folks,

I just purchased Office 2004 through the company I work for and I've come
across a weird installation problem. The disk (which is NOT an MS made
installation disk but rather a company made licensed copy -- my company has
a license agreement with MS where they can sell copies of MS Office for dirt
cheap prices to employees). Now when I try to install it (using the
Installation option) in my B&W G4/600 running Panther using my internal LG
DVD burner, I get either spinning beach balls or app not responding
messages. Trying to copy the folder straight to the hard drive is a lesson
in futility. However, I attached my old external firewire 8x4x24 CD burner,
inserted the CD and the installation went without a hitch. Anyone know why
the old CD burner worked with the installation but the DVD burner simply
tanked? I know the DVD burner works fine since I was able to use it with
other CD¹s and DVD¹s.
