Wouldn' it be just as cheap -- and a lot easier and safer -- to get an external 
USB or Firewire case or drive? Or is there some disadvantage to that?

(I just bought a G4 MDD, choosing it over a QS that might have been a better 
deal otherwise, because I wanted room for lots of drives without hassle.)
