I built my parents a G3 made out of a Yosemite motherboard hacked into an ATX case. It will be replacing their G3 7300. They need all of their current software, so I plan on installing the harddrives from the 7300 into the ATX G3. However, the Blue G3s onward required a ROM in the system folder. Im wondering if there is a ROM somewhere in my OS X system folder on my Sawtooth,
and if that could be used with OS 9 on the Blue G3.

You will definitely need to replace the System folder on the moved hard drive. The classic OS (pre X) was custom installed for each computer type.

I have an old boat anchor Seagate drive with all my OS 9 stuff on it running 9.1. It or a FW disk imaged from it have booted my 7600, my G3 beige, a 5300 and a Pismo powerbook, and my G4 GigE.

SOME hardware drivers, notably Firewire and USB, will not install if there's no corresponding hardware present at install time, but the system folder is universal. System specific System Folders largely went out in the mid 7.x era.
