These old eyes are not as good as once they were. Having a bit of a
problem digesting the information I was receiving I decided to take the
card out of the B&W and check it up close and personal and found it to
be an Acard 6280 which I am sure will give me a whole other set of

I had that card until I decided that having 2 120G HDs on the native
bus of my Digital Audio was enough speed and capacity for me now. You
can still run either a mirror or stripe raid set up on it by using Disk
Utility. Here is a good tutorial on RAIDs that I just found:

The ones that are most relevant are striping (level 0) and mirroring
(Level 1).
As to the speed of drives on this card, here is my report from memory.
I have 2 120G drives, a Maxtor and a WD. When I tested them both on and
off of the 6280M, the speeds were within 5%. Since I am not doing heavy
database or pixel pushing, I figured that I would be better off with
more ram, so I sold off the card to up the ram to 1G from 512 and THAT
difference I noticed.
