Yes I started reading the man pages on yaboot.  However, I could not 
save any changes to the yaboot.conf file (using the GUI).  Anyway, 
yaboot no longer loads either because I zapped the PRAM or because I ran 
Ybin and replaced the original yaboot.conf file with a different one. 
But once I get Linux booting again I will try the text editors you 
mentioned.
