Any tips on what the problem might be and what I should check?
IME, more than likely it's a dead PRAM battery. Less than $10 at Radio
Shack (1/2 AA size) or the equivalent. Easy fix.
I have to disagree. when this has happened to me and resetting P-Ram
didnt solve it , it always turned out to be the powersupply....
good luck with solving it...
Remove and re-insert EVERYTHING, memory CPU, video card, power
cables, etc. Disconnect any PCI card but the main video. Disconnect
both drive cables and the power cables to the drive. Remove all the
memory. Remove the video card.
For starters here we are trying to get the computer to power on so
incidentals like drives, video and memory don't matter. Once it
powers on then start worry about those things.
