I have a Sawtooth with what I believe is an Apple SuperDrive. It is Apple branded and is a DVD/CDRW. Anyway, I have Ubuntu installed on this system, and intend to have several versions of linux installed on this computer in the not too distant future. One of the things I need to know for an optimal setup is if the Sawtooth and SuperDrive support DMA (Direct Memory Access). In Ubuntu, the CD player skips at a regular interval. Though I dont necessarily believe enabling DMA will solve that problem, I do think it is the first thing I should try. If my system supports DMA I really feel it should be enabled.
Thanks Chris P BTW I also had to enter in my monitors horizontal synch and vertical refresh rates in order to use refresh rates past 60Hz. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
