However good iPartition might be for the task at hand, the idea of paying $44.95 for a tool I would rarely use and can do without seems excessive. I remember I used to be able to reformat part of a drive under 8.6 and/or earlier OSes. I can't remember what software I used then; perhaps it was FWB Hard Disk Toolkit. I'd like to know about any free or inexpensive GUI utilities and/or how to do such things using pdisk or other UNIX tools. BTW, my new 250 GB (decimal) drive arrived in the mail a few days ago, so I was able to back up all my files from the old 80 GB drive and reformat the latter. In this case, since the organization of files on the old drive was a mess anyway, it was actually an advantage to do it that way.
