Mac guys and gals,

I just picked up a G4 dual 500 MHz "Mystic" Gigabit Ethernet from eBay, and I have some questions.

These came with a DVD - Ram drive. Will it burn CDs?

How well does it run with Tiger? Any issues?

Will the Zip drive work under Tiger?

Any additional info will be appreciated.

BTW, I already looked at the description on the Low End Mac website.

I bought this to give to a friend as a Christmas gift - the 7300/180 I gave him a couple of years ago kicked the bucket. But I may sell it. The seller I bought it from didn't realize it was a dual processor model, so I thought I was bidding on a Sawtooth and paid an equitable price ($222 + shipping. Included 17" ADC CRT monitor, 512 megs, 40 gig drive, zip drive).

I can upgrade the memory another 256 megs (I'm pretty sure I have that much extra) and put a second 40 gig hard drive in it (it's around here somewhere, I'm just not sure where).

I'm wondering if I can get enough for it to buy my friend a Mini instead, because he's always dragging his computers over to my place so I can fix them or show him how to do things.

Plus I'd love to see the look on his face when he unwrapped a Mini after being told, "We just got you a couple of small things this year..."
