Many thanks Doug.
Will try all options after I have them in their final position, after
building a desk for the two computers and three monitors in my workstation.
If everything fails, I believe that I might try buying another monitor just
to check if the issue is related to that particular unit.
Or I may live with that. Although I calibrate and profile the main monitor,
and calibrate the guns in the secondary ones at 6500K, I don't do any
critical color or design work. I just do text (translations).
Umm... flat panels, yummy. I am not ready for that yet. For a while. I will
enjoy having a vertical resolution of 1024 in all monitors and almost
exactly the same physical height. It's a huge desktop (2816 x 1024) for
very little money and does wonders for my productivity.
Thanks again.

A most difficult task. The interference is magnet, not electric. You need
a mild steel or nickel shield with "soft" magnetic properties. Conetic and
Mu-metal are things to Google for. The best magnetic shields require heat
treatment AFTER any cutting or bending.
But I have tried such things with little success. Spacing works wonders.
1/4 inch of soft cast iron does nothing.
Monitors that operate at different horizontal rates don't interfere too
much with each other. You might try moving the center monitor to one side.
The magnetic leakage from a monitor may well be heavier on one side than
another.
In some cases you have options on the video card to change to another scan
rate. Multiscan or VGA monitors can handle that and it's worth a try.
The direction of the earth's magnetic field also matters. Can you turn
your desk around?
It's also possible that the interference you see is from a 60 Hz source
like a florescent lamp nearby. Check it out.
I am converting to flat panels with my next upgrade. Magnetics and high
voltage are just too much these days even though I have been doing
electric power stuff for the last 10 years
