As a lifelong Epson user, I will pitch my 2 cents in to say that none of my Epsons have ever died on me (have had 6 of them in varying degrees of price points). Get this: My Mom had an HP printer hooked up to her HP computer, and had nothing but problems with trying to get the computer to communicate with the printer.
