So, can anyone on this list recommend a good, free newsgroup server and a newsgroup reader that is compatible with it? What are your experiences?
I've been using Unison as a NG client and a combination of my free (minimal) newsgroup access from Comcast and Panic Software's (the maker of Unison, Audion, Transport) news servers for $12 a month with 10gb of article downloads. Comcast usually has a 24 hour minimum retention while Panic has 1.5-2 months minimum depending on the size of the group.
