Hi all, I've installed 9.2.2 on this Rev.A iMac from an original OS9 CD and did all the upgrades via a CF-card-reader. I'm running Panther as installed from the original OSX CDs and don't dare to upgrade because the previous upgrades (10.3.9 and/or 10.3.6 Combined) left the iMac inoperable.
But now I still can't boot into OS9 even though OSX can see and use the OS9 partition for Classic. Is there a special trick to get it to boot in OS9?? When I select the OS9 partition as startup I get a grey screen and when I hold down the D-key it boots into 10.3.0. I remember having seen a folder-icon on another iMac at startup when a special key (I think it was the D) was pressed at the beginning so you could choose the startup disk before the boot process. On my beige I can use the Option-key to get back to OS9 any time but this doesn't work with the iMac. I guess it's a XPF feature. But XPF won't run on the iMac. I tried DIMM First Aid but "this app doesn't run on this machine". Duh! Need OS9 first. Does anybody have any more suggestions. I'm getting pretty frustrated as (a lot of) time goes by... TIA, Jörg. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
