Hi,

J=F6rg, I take this to mean that you booted from a
Panther CD, and
ran=20=

Disk Utility from that and formatted the OS9 partition.
If you did
not=20=

specifically tick on the check box saying "Install OS9
drivers" (or=20
similar; I run a Norwegian system) the partition will not
be visible=20
from OS9. CHOOSING HFS+ IS NOT ENOUGH!

The partition would still be visible when you boot from
OSX, which=20
doesn't need these OS9 drivers. So then you could install
an OS9
System=20=

Folder from the Restore Software CDs - is that how you
did it?
Then Classic would work, since the disk access is then
handled by OSX
-=20=

but booting into "pure" OS9 would NOT.

As far as I know the only way to fix this is to reformat
the OS9=20
partition, with the appropriate check box ticked on.

Are,

As I stated earlier: After the complete installation of
OS 9.2.2 I started from the OS9 Installer CD and from
there the OS9-system partition is seen and can be
selected in the Startup Disk CP to boot from. So the OS9
drivers are there, apparently. Also, when formatting a
disk with Disk Utility the OS9 drivers checkbox is always
ticked by default and I didn't untick it.

So the mystery remains. Thanks anyway. Any more
suggestions anybody?

Jörg.
