I moved memory from my Beige G3 to a Giga-E.
Some worked & some didn't, even in OS9, & it was
all pc100 or better. You need pc100 or pc133 for G4.
The beige uses pc66 but works with pc100 or pc133
if it's low density (double sided for 256 meg).
You can run Dimm First Aid & it will tell you the ram speed.
TattleTech may also give you information.
There's also a web site that you can look up specs from
the markings on the ram chips but I don't have links.
