So what do you guys think? Should I upgrade or not? My system was a
Beige G3 that I upgraded and is now a G4/525Mhz, 512MB RAM, Radeon
7000 video card, Pioneer DVR-110 drive and a 60gig hard drive. There
is also an Apple-branded 2gig HD on the internal SCSI bus, perhaps
this was the original drive in the system. I use that exclusively for
the OS 9/Classic installation. I also added USB support with a 2-port
USB card. Since this machine started out as a Beige, I understand I
would have to use XPostFacto to install 10.4 but this part of things
doesn't concern me.

Many folks can run 10.4 just fine on Beiges; I was never able to get mine to work with 10.3 after many tries; I ended up getting a G4 system, but that was another issue. My system differed from yours by having a ATA 133 card in it, but otherwise was very similar. It was a Rev C.

I do know that on supported hardware 10.3 is faster than 10.2 and 10.4 is faster than 10.3, so if it works, you'll have a nice system.
