But keep in mind you're talking about much smaller diameter disc
platters than you have in full sized hard drives, so the radial
velocity and therefore latency times are different.  IOW, a 4200 rpm
laptop drive is almost as fast as a 7200 rpm full size HD.

Thank you, I didn't know that. Maybe no urgent need to upgrade the HD then?

Mostly worried that it would make the machine to hot. It gets pretty hot already. Just exchanged the 128 MB module with a 512 MB one, for a total of 640 MB. Guess this adds to the heat to, or not?

Wonderful to finally have enough RAM, took me two years to afford.. And now the screen is brand new also, after they replaced the blotchy old one for free!
